Tuthill T855 Blower Is Sealed With Isomag Magnetic Bearing Isolators
The Tuthill MD T855 series blowers are heavy duty industrial blowers designed for the loading and unloading of cement, powders, crushed limestone, sand, and granular materials. Our customer, Luck Stone, utilized this Tuthill Blower in unloading crushed limestone. The Tuthill T855 has 4 bearings in two flooded oil sumps. The lip seals installed at the factory simply cannot be run for a long time, and Luck Stone was in the market for a positive seal that will hold the oil in the bearing housing.
Luck Stone found Isomag magnetic face bearing isolators which complied with the positive seal requirement, but provided them with a seal that possessed a long life cycle. The seal has been running since 2014 and is still going today, with no leaks, while protecting the spherical bearings.
