Sulzer in Easley, South Carolina, was in need of a bearing isolator that could contain oil within the flooded bearing housing of their Sulzer LST pump for their customer. They needed to eliminate the leaking oil issue they were having with previous labyrinth isolators that would escape through the leak path. The leaking oil can create an oil slick covering ground of the equipment and walkways, causing unsightly housekeeping and safety issues.
