Roper Gear Pump Seals With Isomag Bearing Isolators
The Roper 3600 series gear pumps are heavy duty industrial gear pumps designed for the loading and unloading of cement, powders, crushed limestone, sand, and granular materials. Our customer, Luck Stone, utilized this Roper 3600 in moving a limestone slurry. The Roper 3600 has 2 bearings in flooded oil sumps. The lip seals installed at the factory simply cannot be run for a long time, and Luck Stone was in the market for a positive seal that will hold the oil in the bearing housing.
Luck Stone found Isomag magnetic face bearing isolators which complied with the positive seal requirement, provided them with a seal that possessed a long life cycle. The seal has been running since 2014 and is still going today, with no leaks, while protecting the spherical bearings.
