Solar Turbines specified Isomag bearing isolators to be equipped on the electrical generating gearbox. Solar turbines required a bearing seal with long life since maintenance life cycle requirements necessitated it. The Isomag bearing isolator saw shaft speeds ranging 1500 to 1800 RPM, and a lube method of oil splash with 3 PSI. Installed in 2011 in San Diego, the Isomag bearing isolators meet the required life cycle of this application and is still running today.
