Hurricane Florence came in September 2018, and left the city of New Bern, North Carolina under water. Including our customer International Paper. With the mill flooding, IP knew a lot of the rotating equipment on the ground floor was going to be in need of some overhaul. International Paper was surprised to find the two Sulzer LST 61-6 white liquor high pressure pumps equipped with Isomag magnetic seals were not contaminated with water ingress in the power frames. Also all of the various gearboxes sealed with Isomag bearing isolators remained contaminant free.
