DuPont/Chemours Trusts Isomag Bearing Seals On Their Electric Motors

Share

Chemours in Mexico, formerly DuPont, found Isomag magnetic bearing seals to be the perfect solution for their Emerson 184T Frame NEMA Electric Motor. This Emerson electric motor is used in a proprietary process and experienced problems of ingress of water and process fluids to the bearing housing, eventually causing the motor to fail. The one weakness of this Emerson motor is the bearing isolator that was installed. Bearing isolators require centrifugal force to work. When the machine goes into standby, contamination of the bearing house starts, and corrosion and rust followed quickly after.

When DuPont specified Isomag bearing isolators for their motor in 2008, they were very happy with their decision. The Emerson NEMA electric motor has run leak free and contamination free since for their required 5 year planned maintenance cycle. They once were rebuilding these gearboxes every 24 months.

Isomag magnetic bearing isolators are a positive seal that wont damage the shafts of your electric motor, and work in horizontal or vertical up or down positions. Isomag bearing seals also work perfectly in grease lubrication environments. So say hello to meeting your planned life cycle for your motor with Isomag bearing isolators.
