Ahlstrom Ahlmix AM-20 Mixer Best Protected With Isomag Bearing Isolators

The Ahlstrom Ahlmix Chemical mixer is a medium consistency chemical mixer designed for mixing both gaseous and liquid bleaching chemicals into paper stock. Our customer Domtar Paper in Bennettsville, South Carolina, was in need of a better solution for this mixer. The Alhmix mixer is positioned vertically, and needed positive sealing to prevent the loss of lubrication. Before Isomag bearing isolators were introduced, the mill was using lip seals. However the lip seals only help up for a short amount of time, and wore a groove in the shaft. They needed a better solution.

Isomag bearing isolators are unique in that they are both a positive seal but also do not damage the shafts on the host equipment. The mill was introduced to Isomag bearing isolators through a channel partner in 2004, and ran for 12 years before needing to be replaced.
